Joining the Kintyre Base
Step 1: Introductions
After you've got a place at Kintyre Base the first step is for us to introduce ourselves. Our Key Worker or Principal Teacher will be in touch to introduce themselves and set up an in person visit, this will either take place at Kintyre Base or we will come and visit you in your home. This will be decided based on individual needs and preferences.

Step 2: Base Tour
The next step after introductions is to come and take a look at the Kintyre Base. The time for this is again decided based off of individual needs and preferences but will most likely be after school hours or during base quiet times, this means there will be very few (if any) other young people about, this should give you a peaceful visit.

Step 3: Decide Timetable
We will discuss your interests to agree which class for you to come in and try. This is likely to only be for one to three periods at a time.

Step 4: Increase Timetable
As you get more comfortable with the staff, other young people and how we work at the Kintyre Base we will increase your time at Kintyre Base. We will agree this with you and your parents/ carer.

Step 5: Ongoing Communication
We will keep parents/ carers updated throughout your time at Kintyre Base, this will take the form of texts, phonecalls of achievements in school and also regular review meetings.
